QUESTION POSED ON: 31 May 2001
I installed an IBM 6400 printer with internal Ethernet. IGP and Code V are both installed. How do I get better control of my printouts? Is there a way to control the page range, and can I get the AS/400 to receive error messages from the printer, such as end of forms, or paper jam? Right now I'm using a remote outq to print to the printer.

If the printer is a network printer, and the connection type is *IP, I don't think there is a way to monitor it from the AS/400. There is a Redbook on AS/400 advanced printing, and I believe I saw some enhancements for V5R1, but you will have to check into it. You can find the link to the Redbooks and the library for V5R1 here.
