QUESTION POSED ON: 23 May 2001
We have a 9402-200 that we have to run V3R2 of Client Access for 5250 emulation. We have started upgrading to Windows 2000 on our PCs, and I'm having trouble connecting to the iSeries. We can get a sign-on screen only if the user has administrator level permission. Have you heard of any fixes or work arounds for this problem?

The only version of Client Access with Windows 2000 support is Client Access Express, which you do not use.

If you use Client Access for emulation only, I would recommend using a different 5250 client.

Examples (here only shareware/freeware are listed):

1. mochasoft tn5250
2. Modern Minds
3. Symtrax
4. Telnet400
and many others.
