QUESTION POSED ON: 23 May 2001
I can't establish a Client Access express connection to a model 250. CWBPING returns messages that the following application servers have problems: Central Server, Network File, Data Access, Data queues, Remote command. I've tried STRHOSTSVR *ALL, and that didn't help.

Use strhostsvr. It should start the servers, including the ones that did not answer you.

Please do the following:

1. Use netstat on the AS/400 and choose option 3 -- do you see the as-* port in listen state?

2. If not try to see joblog messages (WRKSPLF QUSER).

Some possible reasons:

* networking problems
* Character id problems for some of the servers.

Bottom line -- I need more info from the joblog in order to further help.
