QUESTION POSED ON: 02 May 2001
We have users who log on to the AS/400 only to transfer files via FTP. Even though these profiles are used on a regular basis, the "Previous sign-on" field in the user profile is not updated, and therefore, the users are being deactivated because they look like they're unused. Other than setting the password expiration interval to *nomax is there a solution to this problem?

I have the same problem. I simply wrote a virtual terminal signon using the APIs and a file containing the users that only use FTP. When they log on through FTP, I use an exit program to sign them on (once a month) to the virtual terminal, then sign them off. That's the only solution that I know.
