QUESTION POSED ON: 30 April 2001
I have local and remote users connecting to our iSeries 820 V4R5M0 through TCP/IP using Client Access Express. I thought I could monitor the usage through the WRKLICINF command, but it is not giving me a true picture of who is accessing our system using this connectivity. Is there a better way to monitor these users?

The easiest way is through the NETSTAT command. You can sort by column using F13 and select local port. The as-cent (8470) port will give you all machines connected to your system and list the IP addresses. It should be fairly easy to tell which are local as opposed to the remotes.
