QUESTION POSED ON: 26 April 2001 Is there a way to make the iSeries a network drive without using Client Access? I have PDF documents stored within the IFS, which I want to give visibility to but where the client PC uses a Rumba interface to the iSeries. I would like to define the machine via the MS Windows Network but have only seen it declared via a Client Access Network definition.

Yes, an iSeries can appear on the network neighborhood without using Client Access.
The service to use for this is called NetServer, and it is part of the iSeries starting with version 4.2.
