QUESTION POSED ON: 16 April 2001
I want to develop a Web application on the iSeries. Can you please guide me as far as necessary tools and books that can help me?

>

The tools you will need for Web development are probably already on your system. You can use eRPG and your HTTP server to develop Web applications that will run from your iSeries. The best way I know of to get started fast is the easy400 IBM site. It is run by Giovanni B. Perotti/IBM Italy iSeries 400 Technical Support/ Giovanni and his group have a full set of development tools and methods to allow you to quickly and easily start coding for the Web. They also have support documentation to setup and configure your server. There are also tools at theIBM developer site and more documentation at IBM Redbooks. For "off the shelf" books, the only two that I know of are: e-Deployment : The Fastest Path to the Web by Joe Pluta. And e-RPG: Building AS/400 Web Applications with RPG by Bradley Stone.
