QUESTION POSED ON: 25 June 2008
I have a client who is currently on an iSeries V5R4 and the iSeries programming language used is RPGLE (free and SQL). The client recently introduced an MS server 2005, which houses packaged software. We are currently FTPing data from the MS server to iSeries; however, the real solution is to use WebSphere Information Integrator so we can access MS server data using the SQLRPGLE program.

The problem is that I don't know how to implement it, nor do I know anyone who knows how.

There is a whitepaper available that documents how to use and implement a solution based on WebSphere Information Integrator. Go to this website and read the whitepaper titled "Heterogeneous data access for i5/OS applications."

If you're interested in contracting an IBM services team to implement the solution, send an email to rchudb@us.ibm.com.
