QUESTION POSED ON: 19 December 2005
I have a new user, and I want to give him all of the authorities on objects which his predecessor has in his profile. To further clarify my query, I would like to give the same authorities on objects to profile B which profile A has. The class of user is *USER and OS is V5R2.

You can grant user B the same private authorities as user A by running the Grant User Authority (GRTUSRAUT) command. However, I would encourage you to think about using group profiles, granting authority to the group profile (instead of to individual profiles). Then when you make a user a member of the group, the authorities will already be in place (because the authorities will come from the group) and you won't have to worry about granting additional private authorities to individual users.
