QUESTION POSED ON: 26 October 2005 We are running V5R2 and have a PC running Microsoft DOS that controls equipment through a C program and produces an export file that we need to access. Moving to Windows is, at this time, problematic. The PC runs Microsoft Network Client V3 and has been configured to share the entire C drive -- with no password required. I have added a directory for the client to QNTC. It appears that I am getting errors when the iSeries tries to initiate communication; the problem may relate to NetBIOS. Do you have any idea what the PC configuration should look like?

I don't think that QNTC can handle your environment properly since it tries to authenticate using the current user and password. An alternative solution to this issue can be to use FTP from the PC side or using the old DOS Client Access and shared folders (you may find it works properly with V5R2, although not officially supported).
