The first place I suggest you check is the Page Setup for your Client Access session.
Click File | Page Setup.
You will see a two-tab option dialog: Text / Text Options. On the Text tab, verify that you have 'reasonable' settings for LPI, CPI and Font. For example, on my workstation, CPI=10; LPI=6; and Font=[Courier].
Then, on the Text Options tab, make sure that "Print Nulls as spaces" is checked.
