QUESTION POSED ON: 24 January 2005
I currently have an 830 running V5R2. I have purchased an i5 running on V5R3. IBM's suggested route is to upgrade my 830 to V5R3, but I don't really have time. Is it possible to migrate to V5R3 on the new machine and convert/upgrade once there?

Unfortunately, there is no easy way around it. The i5 will only function at V5R3. You will have to make the time to upgrade your 830 to V5R3 and then move it to the i5.
