QUESTION POSED ON: 13 January 2005
I need to be able to access the data on our iSeries using a Linux or Windows Network. What are my options?

>
EXPERT RESPONSE
To access the iSeries file server, one may use either Samba from Linux or the Windows network from Windows by using NetServer. More can be found here.

To access the iSeries, the best idea is to use an ODBC driver. For Windows, use iSeries Access ODBC driver for Linux. Check out this IBM page.
