QUESTION POSED ON: 19 January 2004
I have a Windows XP PC -- iSeries Access and Access 2002. I have set up an ODBC 32-bit connection and I'm trying to link an iSeries file to the Access database. I receive the error "Received error (-7778) there is no message for this error." This is my first try at an ODBC connection. Is there a simple documented way to do this?

You did nothing wrong. This is a known issue in Access, and Microsoft acknowledged it as a bug. You can bypass this problem by using Machine ODBC Data Sources instead of File Data Sources -- this is done in the ODBC source configuration.
