QUESTION POSED ON: 23 July 2003
We have users who connect (maps) only to IFS and never log onto the iSeries. They have a personal user ID. When you look at the user ID (dspusrprf) it's not possible to see the last logon. I'd like to delete old profiles that no longer are used. Is there a way to see what user profiles have been used via IFS? I'd like to disable the ones that haven't been used in the last 60 days, and then later delete them. We don't use a "guest profile" in the IFS since it's not secure enough.

The "Last Used Date" attribute on the user profile object is updated when a user maps a drive.

You can use the DSPOBJD OBJ(QSYS/Profile_Name) OBJTYPE(*USRPRF) OUTPUT(*OUTFILE) OUTFILE(Outfile_Name)

Query this file and check the ODUDAT (Last used date (MMDDYY)) field. If the date in this field is older than 60 days, delete away!
