QUESTION POSED ON: 02 April 2003
We have a Lexmark Optra S1855 hooked up to our iSeries network. We are trying to print our spool files to the remote output queue. But every time I try, I get a bunch of weird characters on four pages, then only part of the print out. I have researched this site and tried everything that I could find. Any help in this matter would be appreciated.

EXPERT RESPONSE

You will need to use Host Print Transform in order to get this printer to operate correctly. There are some entries for Lexmark Printers in the MFGTYPMDL, but I didn't see one for your specific printer. One of those may work, or you may need to use a Workstation Customization object in order to transform the data correctly. If the Lexmark models don't work, I would suggest searching the Redbooks for creating your own *WSCST objects.
