Use OPNQRYF against a multi-format logical file

Is it possible to use OPNQRYF against a multi-format logical file so that I get records from each of the formats? Our order header records are stored in two files -- current and history. Currently, we execute the OPNQRYF command twice, once for each of the formats in this logical file.


If the files contain different record formats, you would need both OPNQRYF commands. If it is the same record format, and multiple members, OVRDBF FILE(A) MBR(*ALL) will put all of the members of your logical in the data path. If there are multiple record formats, this will do nothing to help you.
