Suppressing error messages

I'm using open query in my CL program. When I call the program on the screen, it displays one of the following messages: Executing query, 30 records selected, or many such messages. What is the best way to suppress these messages?

I've never tried to suppress these messages. They are being sent by the system to the program queue attached to the workstation, so I don't know of any way to suppress them.
