Q

Send a physical file from theiSeries 400 to an e-mail address

We are trying to send a physical file from our iSeries 400 to an e-mail address as an attachment. I have success using the SNDDST command, but my attachment shows as garbage because it is not converted to ASCII. I would like to make this an iSeries automatic procedure without human intervention. Any ideas?

Write a CL to use the CPYTOSTMF to copy the physical file to a stream file (usually placing the file in the /tmp/ directory). Attach that file and it will be in ASCII format.
