Running a .BAT file from the IFS

How can I run a .BAT file stored in an IFS directory from a batched CL program? OS/400 is not capable of running...

batch file (hank goodness for this) so you will need a PC with the following attributes:

  • Install Client Access on the PC (i.e. MYPC)
  • Activate the incoming remote command service
  • Map network drive from the PC to your iSeries (i.e. f = mydir on the iSeries where the batch file resides in mydir directory)
  • Run remote command from the iSeries batch file:

    RUNRMTCMD CMD('f:mybat')
    RMTLOCNAME(MYPC *IP)
    RMTUSER(RMTUSR)
