Printer output to a particular drawer

I have a printer defined as an HP8000 device (I don't remember what it actually is) and I would like to output to a particular drawer. The printer now defaults to drawer 3 (81/2 X 11 white paper) and I would like one application to go to drawer 4 where we would load some special forms (mailers). I tried to use the drawer parameter on the crtprtf, but it had no effect. Any suggestions?

There are two possible problems. The first is that the printer does not fully accept the HP8000 PCL data stream commands for changing drawers. The second is that the SCS/AFPDS conversion is not set to perform the host print transform to send the correct PCL commands to the printer. You will need to find a compatible driver and/or change the output queue, printer file to perform the host transform prior to writing to the printer. You might also check the iSeries support site for PTF's to fix the problem.
