We do not know the QSECOFR password on our "old" AS/400 that we are using to run parallel with our current system, and we no longer have anyone here who is a system administrator on that system. We can't enable users, etc., and we no longer have service on these machines. What are our options?
If you happen to know the DST QSECOFR profile's password (which is different than the OS/400 user profile called QSECOFR), you could use DST to reset the QSECOFR OS/400 user profile password to the default value – "QSECOFR." If you don't know the DST QSECOFR password, you might try the shipped value, which is – you guessed it – QSECOFR.
For instructions on resetting the OS/400 QSECOFR password using DST, search the IBM Information Center for the topic "reset QSECOFR passwords." Note that DST profiles are now called "service tools user ID."
