Password fields of 128 characters
If I code the password field in the sign-on screen to be a 128-character field, it uses the new sign-on screen, which is OK but it has a password field of 128 characters, which is of no use whatsoever. So I need to be able to have the password entry field limited to 14 characters. What would you suggest?

The sign on process is going to expect a field length coming in from the sign on DDS to be either 10 or 128. It won't accept other values. So you will have to use the 128 DDS if you are going to allow passwords of up to 14 characters long.
