Open a socket using port 8080

I am working on a PERL script that will go to an Internet site, load a page, copy the data it finds and write that data to an IFS file. To get to the Internet from our corporate Intranet we have to use a proxy server, port 8080. I can find no way to define this route in the iSeries TCP/IP configuration. Have I overlooked anything or is this simply not possible?

You would need to open a socket using port 8080 and send the authentication string for your proxy server. You can find some example scripts here.
