I have a 9406 170 iSeries running V4R5M0 now. Recently I received the following message: Interactive activity approaching capacity installed. And we noticed degradation in the response time. I would like to point out that before when I was running V4R3M0 on that system I never received that message. The question is: has IBM enhanced the operating system to slow down the system based on the OS/400 CPU usage license after V4R3M0?
Yes, IBM has enhanced the OS to limit the CPU usage and licensing. This is done through software and/or interactive cards.
