We provide a central IT function to companies in our group. These companies are using an ERP application where there is a separate database allocated for each company. How can I control iSeries functions (such as *SPLCTL, *JOBCTL, and JOBQ control) to users of a specific company? What is the best way to set up the security of the iSeries to achieve the above goal?
Being that authority is controlled by the iSeries at sign-on time, you will need to control the authority on a user profile by user profile basis. Based upon that, you could set up group profiles for each company giving the necessary levels of security to who requires that. However, this is done at the iSeries security level and not at the ERP application level. Hope this helps.
