However, my problem is the print job goes to the printer and uses tray 1, when the paper used to print is located in tray 2. Is there a way to change this and have it default to tray 2 (where paper actually exists)?
Are you trying to have spooled files that think they are printing to tray 1 actually pull from tray (drawer) 2 on the printer? You have two options to get the files to print to tray 2.
Your first option is you can change the drawer attribute of the spooled files to 2. Your second, more difficult option would be to create a customized WCSCT (work station customization) object that would send requests for tray 1 to tray 2.
